About Mt Mac Barossa
Experience timeless elegance and modern comfort in the heart of the Barossa Valley
About the Owners
We are Marnie & Rob, the passionate creators behind Mt Mac Barossa. Our vision was beautifully simple: to craft the kind of short-stay accommodation we would love to experience ourselves when visiting the Barossa.
We believe we've achieved that perfect balance of comfort and elegance, and we sincerely hope you and your friends enjoy Mt Mac as much as we do.
Design & Philosophy
"The owners rotate the furnishings and artwork regularly, like a gallery of sorts, giving freedom for creative expression. Another key aspect is openness—a constant reminder of place, with an authentic alignment between the home and its rural setting."
— Design Anthology Magazine
"Nestled in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, Mt Mac Cottage reflects both its landscape and its owners' sensibilities. The original cottage has been restored and a new glazed, blackened timber pavilion added. Old and new come together in harmony."

A Personal Touch
Rob Gilder, co-owner of Mt Mac Barossa, carries a lifelong passion for gardens and stonework that began in childhood, collecting river stones with his father to build walls around their Victorian farmhouse.
At Mt Mac, this tradition continues through the remarkable curved stone wall crafted by local SA stonemason Steven Harper, adding a unique touch of heritage to the property.
